About the Studio

The Biggest Problem Most Adults Face When Learning the Piano…and how we solve it.

The biggest problem that most teens and adults have when it comes to learning the piano is frustrating because it’s so simple.

They need more time at the piano to practice.

Everything in this studio is built around that idea. The most high tech learning techniques don’t work if you don’t have the time to actually do it.

Using an approach that leads naturally from one step to the next students discover how easy it is to learn to play the piano allows students to quickly make progress as they learn their favorite music.

Flexible

Programs:

The lesson programs can move at whatever pace the student is comfortable with.  This means that those students looking for a fun hobby, AND those looking to have a career in music can get the training they desire.

Scheduling:

Sometimes life gets in the way of your piano lesson (Gasp!! I know… but it does happen). The studio’s easy scheduling policy makes rescheduling easy.

Fun

As students learn to play music they know,  smiles and laughter are common…(even for adults). They will enjoy the various songs, games, apps, and of course “bad musical puns”, that will help make learning the piano the best hour they will spend all week.

About Me

With over 20 years of teaching experience, my studio helps students make fast progress toward their musical goals and provide clarity as to the best route there.

Learning piano can be overwhelming with so many different paths to take. We’ll work together to give you the skills to meet your goals and to help you lead a more musical life.

Whether you are just getting started with piano, continuing in a new direction  or coming back to it after a long pause I can help you move on

My students have ranged from happy-go lucky 8 year olds, to high school students preparing for college auditions, to adults who finally make the time to either return to the piano or to finally get started, and everyone in-between.

I have a degree in Music Education from The Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam with a concentration in Piano Pedagogy where I studied with Eugenia Tsarov, and a Masters in Piano Performance from Western Michigan University where I studied with Lori Sims. I have always enjoyed learning more about the piano (and music in general) and have also studied jazz piano with Jeremiah McClaine, and harpsichord with Silvia Roederer. Currently I study piano with Robert Durso, co-founder of the Golandsky Institute.
